UFS201 - 3rd Vocabulary Entry

 ·         Find two (2) words to be paired with the following words to form phrasal verbs.
 ·         Give the meaning for each Phrasal Verb  



  1. Tear
·         Tear down - To pull a building down
·         Tear off – To write or draw a letter

  1. Fall
·         Fall away – To slope away from a point
·         Fall back – To move to a position farther back or behind

  1. Break
·         Break away – A group separating from a larger one
·         Break down – A failure

  1. Stand
·         Stand out – To be obvious
·         Stand up – To rise to an upright standing position

  1. Keep
·         Keep off – Do not touch
·         Keep on – To continue moving

  1. Turn
·         Turn out – To produce the kind of person mentioned
·         Turn over – To change the position

  1. Pull
·         Pull ahead – To go in of and beyond a competitor
·         Pull in – To be driven towards the side of the road

·         Walk in – To enter a room
·         Walk off – To take something

·         Back away – To move away
·         Back down – To withdraw an accusation
